About Melanie

Hi and welcome to my blog. After years of writers block and  thinking about to write about and several other lame excuses, I’m finally getting my blog up and running. First let me set one thing straight…I’m NOT this Melanie Collins … I’m THIS Melanie Collins. I’m an almost thirty something amazed at how quickly my 20’s are coming to an end. Seems like just yesterday I was graduating college with hopes and aspirations of becoming a broadcast journalist…then the reality of student loans slapped me in the face. Instead of venturing into the newsroom as very low paid reporter, I decided to venture into the world of sales, where the only real limit to my income was myself. It feels like I just blinked my eyes and years of workin’ like a dog are behind me and I have a great future ahead of me. Right now I work at PR agency SHIFT Communications . But, I won’t be using this space to talk about my job per say because quite frankly there are so many great PR blogs out there and not that much original content or opinions anymore, so I’m using my blog to take a breather from work and get back to writing, enjoy some personal time and self-reflection.  I’ll most likely write about being a wife, soon to be business owner, cancer survivor, homeowner, dog  owner and being an almost thirty something.
